One Room Challenge Fall 2020 – Week 3

Today begins the One Room Challenge Week 3! I have so many choices to make in such a short amount of time. You would think that 6 weeks would be plenty of time to redo a room, and I guess if I had pre-planned, that may be true! I jumped in on this challenge the night before it started so I guess you can say my experience is authentic. lol. I wish I had more to post this week, but I’m waiting for things to arrive.

One Week Challenge Week 3 – Progress

• The room has been painted using Valspar Bistro White. I’m excited about this decision. The room looks so bright and clean. I’m still very undecided about whether or not I’ll be adding a feature wall. I’m already way over my original budget but I feel like the room needs something special to set it apart. I’ll have to update you later on what I decide. Time may be a deciding factor.
• The bed has been ordered. If you remember from last week, I selected a bed. I had originally thought I was going to choose a fabric bed, but after thinking about it, I chose wood. This room doesn’t get used very often so I was worried the fabric would start to take on a stale smell. Is that weird? Our area gets so dusty so I felt like it could be a real problem.
• I ordered a rug, too! There were soooo many choices and I had a hard time narrowing it down. I hope I like it when it arrives.
• We emptied the room. I’ll count this one as progress because getting everything out of the room was more work than I anticipated. I’m still trying to sell a few things.

I also chose a new light fixture for the ceiling. I’m going to keep this one a secret but I’ll share my thoughts on three that I looked at.

I have a lot of selections to make. I still need the following:

• End tables
• Lamps
• Bench (I think)
• Bedding
• Throw Pillows
• Accessories
• Curtains
• Curtain Rod
